Appearance: White or off-white lyophilized powder. A proteolytic enzyme derived from human urine or kidney cells. Its natural substrate is plasminogen. Sensitive to moisture. Soluble in water. The dry powder is stable at 4°C, while the aqueous solution is stable for 3 days at 4°C.
Use: Biochemical research. It is a protease that cleaves plasminogen to form plasmin. It binds to cell surface receptors (uPAR), regulating cell adhesion, tissue remodeling, and migration, while also activating intracellular signaling pathways. Urokinase consists of three domains: an N-terminal domain homologous to epidermal growth factor, a central kringle domain, and a C-terminal protease domain.
Storage: -20°C
